By ROKA Studio

A ROKA cladding tile weighs about 20kg. That figure is calculated. We have not weighed a tile yet.
Each tile is 600 x 1200mm and 12.5mm thick, cast in GFRC. It covers 0.72 m², which works out at about 27.5kg per square metre.
How does that compare with a worktop?
Next to a worktop, that is light. A 30mm concrete worktop is about 70kg per square metre, so a wall of tiles carries well under half the weight of the same area of worktop. It lands close to a 38mm laminate worktop, at about 26kg.
What would a whole wall weigh?
Take a wall 3m wide and 2.4m high. That is 7.2 m², or 10 tiles, and about 200kg in all before any cutting. It is arithmetic on a calculated weight. Treat it as an estimate.
What about the fixing?
Weight is only half of a wall question. The fixing depends on the wall itself, so we confirm it for each wall when we quote. Our post on how concrete cladding tiles fix to a wall covers it.
Where do you go from here?
I would rather give you a calculated number, marked as one, than a round one passed off as fact. Sizes and the tile itself are on our concrete cladding page. You can ask for free samples here. The 300 x 600mm cladding sample tile is asked for by enquiry.
