What can you specify from us that a stone fabricator can't make?
Stone and quartz come as slabs, so long runs, corners and waterfall ends meet at a joint. We cast instead. For a joint-free run around a corner or down a waterfall end, we build formwork on the client's cabinetry and pour in place.
We formulate our own mixes, so colour can be matched to a paint reference, a fabric or a sample your client already has.
How we make worktopsHow does a project run with us?
- Drawings. Send plans or elevations. Before quoting, we come back with straight answers on weight, spans, cabinet loading, cut-out tolerances and programme dates.
- Samples. Cast tablets in the real colours and finishes, for you and your client.
- Sign-off. CAD drawings and a material specification are signed off before anything is cast.
- Template. We template on site.
- Cast and finish. Typically 3–6 weeks from design confirmation. Rush work can often be accommodated.
- Install. We fit our own work, so the tops arrive and go in with the people who made them.
Will the cabinets take the weight?
Usually, yes. Like for like, concrete weighs about the same as granite or quartz, and where weight matters we cast GFRC thin with returned edges.
Cabinet loading, spans and support are assessed on every project. If a layout needs extra support, we say so before anything is cast.
What happens if a piece cracks?
We treat a cracked worktop as a failure, not character, and recast it. Every piece we fit carries our 5-year guarantee, so you aren't left holding the problem. Our full answer on cracking is here.
Do concrete worktops crack? Can your clients see the material first?
Yes. We bring a set of cast sample tablets to your studio or showroom, free, so clients can see the real colours and finishes in person. Homeowners can also order their own.
